As of late, my life has had a bit of extra contrast in it. This co-creation thing can be VERY hard at times. It is relatively easy for me to keep my thoughts going downstream when I am off by myself, but when I am interacting with important people in my life, it seems that I find myself going upstream as much as downstream. Knowing what I do about the Law of Attraction, it really frazzles me because I KNOW that how I am thinking and acting is not getting me to where I want to be, but it is almost like automatic programming.

When someone acts in a certain way, I have an automatic, negatively charged, emotional reaction to it. That reaction, when I have time to remove myself from the situation and logically look at what is going on, is usually tied in with vibrations that are dredged up from an earlier time in my life, usually from childhood. It seems that when we are children, we look towards our parents to define who we are and what our worth is. When you have a childhood filled with interactions which are variable and filled with turmoil, those interactions seem to leave a vibrational legacy that you carry with you through life.
This quote from a recent Abraham CD really summed it up for me:
Every time you feel negative emotion, that negative emotion is your indicator that you have got some thought, active within you, that is keeping you from going with the flow. We like that “some thought active within you”. Anything you give your attention to is vibrating and as you give your attention to it, you activate a vibration within you and when you activate that vibration within you, that’s one of those two points of vibrational relativity. So if you’ve got something activated within you that says:
I’m not enough or
I’m not smart or
I did something wrong or
It’s not going to happen for me or
I’m not loved or
I’m not worthy.Any of those ridiculous things that you think of on a pretty regular basis. As you get one of those things activated within you, it is so cross current of your stream and the most interesting thing of all is that YOU are the one who is responsible for your stream moving as fast as it is. Do you get that?
Abraham-Hicks CD 3/3/07 - San Rafael CA Track 3 “Had Enough of “not enoughness”".
Check. Check. Check. Yep, I can identify with several of those “ridiculous things”. These beliefs seem to creep up on me over and over again and color my understanding of the interactions I am having. I am trying to work my way through them all. Sometimes I am successful, and sometimes not. It all seems so hard to break that childhood programming and reprogram myself to what I truly am. I KNOW I am worthy. I KNOW I am loved. That little child in me, doesn’t though, and gets my attention every time with those fears and ingrained beliefs.
“Oh Worthy Beings that you are, if we could zap you with anything it would be, there is no assertion so don’t worry (humorously), if we could zap you with anything, we’ve been working on it for centuries (humorously), if we could ZAP you with anything it would be with an understanding of your value and worthiness because if you just knew that when you ask it is given and you could stand in that expectant place there would not be that contradiction between you and you.”
Abraham-Hicks CD 3/10/07 A - San Diego CA Track 2 “Up to Speed With The Now You?”
I am open to that zapping
I have been contemplating what types of things I can do in order to remove the emotional charge from those beliefs or totally reprogramming myself.
A couple of possibilities that can help clear that emotional baggage that can disconnect you are:
EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques
I have seen EFT work for me and my family, but I need more practice with it. I have all the DVD’s and am in process of viewing them. I am also working with an EFT practitioner (who is also a social worker) but we haven’t really done much in regards to this all yet. I am seeing her to help me through the relationship contrast that is currently at work.
I would love to see some tapping scripts that are affirmation based which deal with the core issues that Abraham has pointed out many many times. And if while tapping, someone remembers a specific situation in their past that brings up those feelings, then tapping on that specifically can be done, thus neutralizing it.
Quoting Gary Craig:
“That notwithstanding, affirmations are usually front and center in the vast array of “you are what you think” books and carry with them some hard to argue with logic. Simply stated, the persistent repetition of an affirmation conditions the mind to see things differently. The affirmation eventually becomes installed as a consistent thought which then shows up in our reality. Our consistent thoughts become our reality. Very simple. To the point. Easy to use. Affirmations are the real sleepers in our Personal Performance Toolkit and we are about to wake them up.”

Seems like a good way to go
Hypnosis
I think I will send an email to Wendi.com about this one as I don’t think she has anything available at the moment that deals with the negative programming that so many appear to have. I have used several of her CDs and they worked for me.
Sedona Method
I don’t know anything about this method, except for what it says on their website.
The Sedona Method is a unique, simple, powerful, easy-to-learn and duplicate technique that shows you how to uncover your natural ability to let go of any painful or unwanted feeling in the moment. The Sedona Method consists of a series of questions you ask yourself that lead your awareness to what you are feeling in the moment and gently guide you into the experience of letting go.
It sounds good. Anyone have any experience with it?
Feel free to share what has helped you
I’m all ears!

I’m hogging your blog comments here, Vickie
But I just wanted to write that before I discovered Abraham-Hicks, I bought the Sedona Method CDs. I did find the technique to be helpful at the time, but I found the AAIIG processes to be more effective. And my husband is an EFT practitioner, and I find that more helpful, too, then the Sedona Method, especially when he leads me through a few rounds of tapping. (It’s funny, but I let go of resistance much more easily when someone else leads the tapping for me.)
If you have the Palace of Possibilities DVD, that one is excellent for non-physical-ailment things.
I do have the Palace of Possibilities so I guess I will have to make time to watch it.
I have added your blog to my blog roll and to my LOA blog list
Vickie
I just downloaded the EFT intro stuff last week but haven’t made time to read all of it. I did get through some of it, but there is so much more to go.
You make me want to plan some time specifically to finish. So I think I’ll do that in the next couple of days. Thanks!

WEAR the Law of Attraction
http://www.manifes-t.com
I have read so many self help books, I could probably write one myself now!
What none of them focus on in any depth, is how to attract into your life a specific person, who you feel drawn to and who you feel very much you could help, and for some reason there is a vibrational or psychic connection with that person, and you can’t get them out of your mind even when you haven’t seen them for months, then you do, more than once in a week, but not to speak with, but there is a connection of sorts even though not acknowledged by either, and difficulties there on both sides, I feel on the same vibrational wavelength, which may not necessarily be a good thing, as both victims of negative programming, cannot get them out of my head though, why does life do this to us? It has led me down the path of delving far more deeply into all this kind of thing than I ever have before, so perhaps their ‘function’ was to enable me to go down this path now, which I wouldn’t have done otherwise if they hadn’t been taken out of my orbit, and me then trying to use these means to draw them back into it again, partially successful, but not in the way I want. Oh well, it’s nice to discover sites like this where one can leave feedback.
[...] I came across a very interesting question recently and it really goes well with another post that I made recently about our childhood baggage that we carry with us. [...]
Vicki,
When I read so many of your posts, I feel like I’m reading stuff I could have written! And I’m learning so much from you. I’ve heard of EFT and know there are many people who follow Abraham who also use EFT, but it’s because of your posts on the subject that I’m finally “listening” and following through. I’m hoping to find a local practitioner to work with - maybe somebody who would like to trade EFT sessions for jewelry.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!
Oooh, what’s the plugin you’re using for subscribing to comments without commenting? Just saw that as I was commenting, lol.
Hi Barb!
Thanks so much for your kind words. I am learning as I go and really appreciate that people are getting something out of what I am writing about.
You know that you can do EFT remotely right? As long as you know the rudimentary tapping points you are set to go. You can find an EFT practitioner who can do eft via the phone and you can learn that way, unless you are lucky enought to have someone local to you.
As for the comment script :), you can find it at http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/ Someone on another post asked about subscribing to comments and I went in search of a plugin. Gotta love google
Vickie,
I think it was actually me that left a comment about subscribing to comments. But yours had a box I hadn’t seen before - subscribe without commenting.
I followed your link and saw that I had an older version. I’ve updated it now, but it seems that it doesn’t work with WP 2.2, to which I also just updated all my sites, lol!
Ah well, now that I know it’s an option, I’ll keep checking back there so that I can update when it’s ready.
Thanks so much.
[...] I knew about EFT and had just started “getting” the Emotional Scale. I had a feeling that the two could be used together to help me out. In the middle of one of the milder meltdowns, I decided to tackle my monster in the bushes. I figured if I could get at the childhood programming issues, and move those vibrations to a better place, my current situation would be a bit easier to deal with. [...]
