Asheville Abraham-Hicks Workshop - Saturday May 5th 2007

May 12th, 2007

Wow, I can’t believe only a week has gone by since the workshop. Not sure why, but it seems like it has been much longer than that. As I described in a previous post, I made it into the “hot seat” and got to ask Abraham a question.

Many people got to come forward and there were some GREAT interactions.

The first person called to the chair was a teddy bear of a trucker named Scottie. Well, at the time of his question, he was an ex-trucker who turned in his resignation so he could spend his time golfing like his grandfather had. It was kind of odd, but he started his time in the seat saying that he didn’t have a question but what unfolded was absolutely amazing. Abraham probed for his reasons for resigning. Scottie wanted to enjoy his trucking time. Enjoying the scenery and just loving the road, but his employer was pushing him to make more trips with less time for the sight seeing. Scottie didn’t like the way that felt. Abraham pulled out of Scottie what the ideal trucking experience would be for him and suggested that there was a perfect job for him that would allow for the type of trucking that he loved and allowed for golf time.

They chatted for a while about the ideal situation and Scottie went back to his seat, after reading a heart felt piece from Abraham-Hicks that he has carried with him, reading every day for a long time. After Scottie sat back down, Abraham announced that Jerry would like to speak with him after the workshop. Abraham then went on to tell everyone of an experience that Esther and Jerry had about 12 hours before the workshop. They had been talking about finding someone to help them haul their stuff from city to city for quite some time. The night before, they had done some focusing on it again - clarifying the type of person they would like to have help them and focusing on how having this wonderful person helping them would make their experience more fulfilling. They finished up by leaving it up to the Universe to come up with the goods :) And boy did it! The first person, 12 hours later, was a perfect match to what Esther and Jerry were looking for. I don’t know what happened after the workshop, but my guess is that Scottie, Jerry and Esther had an amazing conversation. I hope Scottie will be trucking with them and playing golf to his heart’s content!

Another person who came to the seat had a question about a bear. The gentleman had spent considerable time in the forest behind his home cutting a running path through the woods. He knew that there were bears in the forest, but he had respect for the bears and didn’t have any fear of them. He appeared to have an innate knowing that all is well and that the bears were not a threat to him. Until, that is, he had a run in with one of them. They had a face off, and the man had such an authoritative stance that the bear backed down and ended up in a tree. The man then ran back down the mountain and the bear decided to track him down the mountain. The man wanted to be able to go back into the forest and run but didn’t want to have that encounter again and was asking for Abraham’s help in getting to a better place before he attempted it.

Turns out that after the encounter, the man rarely ventured out of his home and he was getting very tired of having that sort of response. Abraham helped him turn him work up the emotional scale and look at the situation in a different way. It appears that after talking with Abraham, he was in a very different place than when he first sat in the chair. Will he venture into the woods again? I think he will. Abraham really enjoyed playing with and referring to the bear examples through the rest of the workshop :)

In the earlier part of the workshop, Abraham had mentioned a situation where Esther had to take the time to work up the emotional scale. Abraham only briefly mentioned it until another woman was called to the seat. She wanted to know more about Esther’s experience of how she got from the despair end of the scale back to a vibration closer to what she normally was at.

Abraham then went step by step through Esther’s process of getting out of the depair that she was feeling. It was a really great example of how to “get there from here”. I hope that this particular interaction makes it to the Weekly/Monthly CDs as I really think that many people would benefit from the step by step that Abraham explained. Maybe, something like this will show up in the new book that Esther and Jerry have coming out in the next couple of months - “The Astonishing Power of Emotions”.

Another interaction that I found particularly interesting was with a teacher. She wanted to know how she could help her students within the framework of what the schools required of her. Abraham went into the Sudbury philosophy and helped her find ways to empower her students within her constraints. She had wanted to get out of the public school constraints and do her own thing. Abraham seemed to be suggesting that she go the Sudbury way. I actually stopped her on her way out to find out where she was from. I was hoping from closer to where I lived (Wake County NC) but, alas, she is from Tennessee. I would love for my kids to go to a Sudbury school. I have the intention out there and am just waiting for the Universe to show me the way :)

There were many other interactions with Abraham. I took something away from each of them. Hopefully I will rediscover more once I get the workshop recordings. It was a fabulous day and I HIGHLY recommend that you attend a workshop if you have time and have an interest in Abraham’s teachings. You will not be disappointed!
