I came across your website today. I love it. Very well done. While reading through it, I am reminded of a saying that I have tried to live by all of my life which is, “If you really want to do something, you will find a way – if you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” Keep up the good work.

Running my own personal development organisation I am always on the look out for ideas, quotes etc. I also try to see both sides of any argument, present the options to my clients and let them decide. Just as you point out that you do not attach a time limit to your goals, I would say that you should have an idea to aim for.

For example, saying "Someday, I'll do that," it is likely that you actually won't do it. Or telling yourself you want to do something doesn't get you started on the path of actually doing it. Many times I have found out that have a timelimit or deadline gets people started even if they miss the time.

A question I have been asked is, "If I miss my deadline, have I failed?" I responded by asking if they ever say to a friend that they will meet them at a certain place and time? Most occations the response is "Yes," the next question is are you sometimes early, late or change plans before the time? Again the response is mostly "Yes."

What can we learn? We all make plans and set deadlines, plans change. As long as you use what is right for you, what gets you started in taking action, then do it. If you (in the minority in my experience) can have goals and work towards them without also having a timeframe, excellent, continue to do so, otherwise find what works for you and do that instead.
