Do it on purpose - Quote from Portland Oregon CD 6/24/06

Friends, it’s really time (we love you so much) to stop complaining about where you are because complaining about where you are doesn’t let you BE who you are. Complaining about what’s wrong in your life points you in the wrong direction and doesn’t let you BE what life has called you to be. And its ONLY not letting yourself go to where you asked to go that feels uncomfortable. Source isn’t asking you to go someplace different than you are, YOU are. So, it’s an internal battle, Me against Me. My life caused me to want something that I am not letting myself have. Damn. That’s it in a nutshell. I’m just not letting myself be what my life caused me to be. And furthermore, I’m comparing myself with all types of other people who’s life have called them to be other things. So how can I possibly get an accurate reading as I compare myself with that one and that one and that one and that one and that one when we are ALL different in that which life has caused us to be?

So… do it on purpose.

Relax on purpose.
Love yourself on purpose.
Look for positive aspects on purpose.
Make lists of things that make you feel good on purpose.
Look for reasons to feel good on purpose.
Praise on purpose.

When you catch yourself criticizing stop in the middle of it and say “I am where I am. I’m criticizing with reason. I didn’t make this up. I’m upset for a good reason. But not a good enough reason. I’m just gonna just let this go. I’m just gonna let this one go. I’m not going to use this thing as my excuse to hold myself against my current anymore. Really good.
