I have never really considered my blog a personal development blog, but after a bit of contemplation and a good definition by Lorraine Cohen on Lyman’s blog, Creatingabetterlife.net, I decided that perhaps my blog did fit into that category.
Building upon your point that personal development covers so many areas. Developing anything that involves expanding perspective, creating new thought and experience opens doors to possibilities. Because of our uniqueness, we all bring a fresh perspective that, when combined, brings a picture greater than what we might have created alone. And when that picture is all inclusive without judgments or needing to be right, well, it gets pretty cool!
Priscilla Palmer from Personal Development Demands Success decided to put together a list of outstanding personal development bloggers.
She writes:
Personal development is a large topic that includes but is not limited to (law of attraction, goals, time management, physical fitness, education, motivation, inspiration, and social skills). This list should include any blog you feel can benefit us in our growth process.
She tagged Lyman, and Lyman tagged me and I, in turn, am tagging extraordinary bloggers that I feel fit into this category as well. The list on Priscilla’s blog is getting extensive and there are MANY wonderful bloggers listed there. Some I have or do read and many that I have not. I am looking forward to exploring and having my perspective enriched.

Taking the lead from Lyman at CreatingABetterLife.net, I have a question to ask of my readers:
What do you think this blog is about?
First – What do you think this blog is about?
Please leave your answer in the comments section or in a blog post of your own.
Second – If you have a blog, ask your audience what they think your blog is about.
I have an idea in my head about what I hope people will take away from my blog, but it will be very interesting to see how close I am coming to my goal.
It will be interesting to see which bloggers hawk their referrer information like I do.
I am going to list my commentators below, but if you aren’t listed and would like to comment, I would love to hear what you think my blog is about.
Melba from Be Alive Believe Be You
Lyman from Creating A Better Life – Right back atcha
Dean from Law of Attraction for Beginners
Debra from Reach, Dabble, Shine
Suzanne from Finding My Way to Wellbeing
Barb from Feels Like Magic
My dear reader Wren who drops by on a regular basis to light up my day
Looking through my visitor log, I saw visitors coming through from Lyman at Creatingabetterlife.net.
Seems that there is a meme started by Hilda at Living Out Loud about “Songs that make your heart sing” and Lyman was tagged and then he tagged me!
I had to smile when I saw what song he chose – Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. I so remember that song. I think ALL teenagers in the 80’s will remember that song as what would amount to a teen angst anthem.
What a great song to facilitate a move up the emotional scale
I LOVE it!
The song that currently makes my heart SING (la la LAAAA!) is:
Lyrics from A-Z Lyrics Universe
Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
I am unwritten, can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Oh, oh, oh
I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you

As I was surfing around this morning and came across Cardin’s post at OptimistLab about her High Vibes Game. I thought it was pretty cool and had that page up in a browser window for most of the morning intending to read up more about it.
And wouldn’t you know it, she comes along and tags me to play.
So here it goes, my top 5 vibration raising activities. These are the things I do to stay positive, happy, and motivated.
1) Listen to Abraham-Hicks on a daily basis.
While they may not be for everyone, I find that their teachings help me look at things with a more positive perspective. They help me kick my vibration up a notch or two.
2) Daily meditation.
I have invested in the Holosync program (the easy way to meditate) and have found that it is a wonderful way of starting out my morning.
All I need to do is sit in my comfy chair and put my head phones on and off I go. It helps me start off the day nice and calm and positively. I find that my day goes so well. My interactions are smoother, my intuition is sharper, and everything just goes so well. One morning this week, I decided that I would sleep in instead of getting up at 4:30am to listen before my family got up. Well, that wasn’t too good of a day. By the end of the day, I was extremely tired and cranky.
3) Exercise.
This is something new to me. I guess I used to be what could be termed as a computer / desk potato. The extent of my exercise was to climb the stairs in the house. Since I started meditating, I have found myself to be more motivated. I have joined a gym and have a personal trainer now. I have exercised more in the last two weeks than I have in the last 6 months. After the intial tiredness, I find that I feel much more energized and ready and willing to face what comes my way. I think it helps me burn off any of the stress that I am carrying around with me. Much better to burn it off then to lay it on someone else when you interact.
I think my family would agree!
4) Appreciation Lists
When I do my appreciation lists, it is amazing to me how my vibrations rise and stay that way. When I focus on the things in my life that are working and are wonderful and appreciate them, I find that I see more and more things to appreciate. It feels SO good.
It is amazing how it can make you totally change your vibe about something by actively LOOKING for things about the situation to appreciate.
5) Doing Things That I Enjoy
That one seems like a no brainer, but think about it, how often do you do things that you HAVE to do? Most of us spend a good part of our days doing the “have to’s” and not enough time doing the “want to’s”. I love being outdoors listening to and watching nature. I love hearing the birds singing and seeing the hawks soaring. That will lift my vibes everytime. I love watching my family from afar. I love seeing how they interact. I created that. I created everything in my life and I so appreciate it all. (
Sometimes more than others but in the end, it is all fantastic.)
Okay, now time to tag some fantastic bloggers
