Great Manifester

Friday 29 December 2006 @ 6:03 pm

Oh Wow! :)

Gotta love it when you witness manifestation at it’s best. We went out to dinner tonight to Golden Corral. When we went in, there were the machines where you put in a quarter and try to grab a stuffed animal. Stephen had fit when I said no to doing it before dinner. He had a bit of a sit down strike but eventually came after I said we would see about doing it after dinner. I walked the boys around the buffet so they could get food and we were the first ones back to the table.

While we were sitting there waiting for the others to return, an older woman (not an employee of the resturant) came over to the table holding two of the larger stuffed animals that were in the machine out front. She asked if the boys would like them! Of course the boys said yes. Wow, this little boy of mine is going to have exactly what he wants in life, that’s for sure!

He is an inspiration in creation to me :)

Children and Going Up River

Saturday 23 December 2006 @ 5:58 pm

I have a very eye opening experience with my VERY strong willed 6 year old child this week. I hazard to guess that we have all been doing a bit of paddling upstream lately, lowering our vibration, as we have all have had bits and pieces of illness in our systems.

My youngest attracts illness as a way to avoid going to preschool. This last bout actually earned him a week off. Well, my 6 year old caught (attracted) what his brother had and ended up with what looked like an ear infection. We actually had to head to urgent care because it was really upsetting him and causing him great discomfort.

What needs to be noted is that he is incredibly “medicine resistant”. He HATES taking any type of medicine and for the most part, never really has to take any. In his 6 years, he really hasn’t had any illness that required antibiotics or the stuff that really tastes bad.

The doctor at urgent care perscribed an antibiotic liquid. Only 3 doses once a day. That’s easy, right? LOL absolutely NOT. For the first dose, he sat at the table for about an hour fighting with me. I managed to keep my cool for most of it, believing that this was the right thing to do. The Dr. said it would help and I wanted SJ better. Eventually we managed to get 1 tsp of the antibiotic in him with three sips. He didn’t like doing it but when it was done, it was all over and I heaped on the praise. The next night, well, I just got really pissed off. He and I battled about it for over an hour, both of us furiously paddling upstream. I finally gave up and told him to get up to his room. He went to bed crying and I went to bed feeling really depressed.

I laid in bed thinking about how awful it felt to battle with him. The next morning, I threw the medicine away. And you know what, his ear hasn’t hurt him since coming home from the Doctor. I think I will just let him run his little life and stop trying to FORCE him to do things that his mind and inner voice is saying not to do. He’s going to be just fine in this life of his - he has some amazing guidance and is stong willed enough listen to it despite what others are trying to convince him of.

You go boy :)

Amazing Creating Kid

I have a 4.5 year old who is in 1/2 day preschool. He really would rather be home with either mom or dad during the day instead (this is a possible scenerio most days).

He has come to realize that the only time he can stay home is if he is sick. Not a runny nose, little cold, type of sick, but rather the ones where the coughs keep him up all night and mom starts thinking that a doctor’s visit may be in order.

I REALLY believe that he is attracting the illness to him in order to stay at home.

Is there anything that I can do to help him deal with preschool a little. He needs the socialization so he will be ready for kindergarten next year and in all honesty, we don’t get much work done (next to none) when he is around all the time. (We are self employed).

How can I help make this a mutually good feeling co creation?

There are some great suggestions on my post :) And hopefully things will move along nicely as soon as the current illness is under control :)

Thank you so much for your wonderful suggestions :)

I will have to try and find somehthing that will work as an incentive for him Mary K. He is one tough amazing creating kid LOL

Point well taken Sondra. I think, at this time, it is just because he would rather be at home. He has a speech thing that he is very conscious of and doesn’t like talking in front of people. He does come home from school all excited to tell us about what he has done so they are keeping him engaged and interested. When he goes to Kindergarten, I know his school will find ways to make it exciting for him. We are sooo lucky to be going to an absolutely amazing school :)

Well, time to go deal with my amazing kid. :) He managed to work it that he was out of school this whole week with the illness he attracted :)

Just a quick little funny - on Monday morning 4:30 he woke up seriously cough and while he was laying on the landing waiting for me to get my robe on, I hear him say, between coughs, “I don’t have to go to school today?”. I stifled a little laugh because I was sooo impressed by his ability to create a situation that would get him exactly what he wanted!
