Parents often think that they are here to guide the little ones. When - in reality - the little ones come forth with clarity to guide you.

All Is Well
What a wonderful quote. As I grow and learn, I am coming to see that this is so true. My goal is to recapture the joy and clarity of being that my children have. I am consciously trying to allow them all the freedom that is their right and not impose my “I NEED you to behave in a certain way” limitations on them, though at this stage of their being, they seem to be singularly minded and don’t give a hoot what their Dad or I NEED them to do :) Frustraing to me at times, but also admirable. They are truly reminding me that I can “feel better anyway” despite what is going on around me.
Dean from Law of Attraction for Beginners, has a nice post Today, I am thankful for… where he says:
Being thankful is just that, a state of BEING. It’s not a “thanks for this and thanks for that” just to get it out, as a courtesy. Genuine gratitude wells up from within, “from the bottom of my heart”.
I feel that genuine gratitude for my family and the life I live :) Day to day stuff can take me away from that feeling, but even in the most harried times of the day, I can change my vibration by stopping and reflecting about the things that really mean the world to me.
Some time ago, someone posed a question on TheAbeList asking if knew what Abraham’s opinion on EFT was. I don’t think it really got much response.
When I was listening to a recent A-H CD, I came a cross a quote that really meshed nicely with what EFT does.
“We always say, Start with easy things until you have proven to yourself the power of law of attraction and proven to yourself your ability to focus. But once you’ve got that, then we encourage your to clean up your vibration on every subject under the sun. Your vibration is right where you last left it on every subject. So let’s say, when you were in high school someone mistreated you in some way and you never really got over it. You remember the hurt. You remember the wrong doing. You remember how you felt. You remember the disadvantage you took away from it. But then you left there. Eventually you stopped talking about that person. And while you still occasionally have people treat you in that way, it doesn’t come up that often and you don’t think about it all that often. And then, somebody says something to you that triggers that and so now, it’s active again. And as you begin pondering it, you feel that hurt all over again. That means your vibration never moved from that hurt. You haven’t been thinking about it so it hasn’t been a big player in your vibration but it’s been lying there dormant, with the potential of being activated. And now something has happened that activated it. Now, because it was there where you last left it, and you are living in the world, and you are observing things around the world, different things that you observe have the potential of activating that because it is still where you last left it. So, our encouragement, is that sooner or later you take it and you talk it down stream. You do it on purpose. It might take you two or three days, here and there, here and there, but you leave it in a whole different place. Now you’ve left it in a different place, it doesn’t have the potential of ever being activated again. In other words, you have moved yourself to a new place and now it’s not going to creep out of the bushes and club you over the head, over and over again because you have shifted the vibration of it.”

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) does what Abraham suggests, shifts vibrations that have a habit of creeping out of the bushes and sabotaging what we are trying to accomplish in our life. To those not familiar with EFT, it sounds like a really odd way of dealing with the buried issues that come back to haunt us over and over again but it really does work. It is amazing how issues that once caused an emotional reaction, no longer hold the charge that they used to after a couple of rounds of EFT. You can download a free manual on how to do the tapping associated with EFT at Gary Craig’s EFT site. You can find many case studies from people who have had eft work effectively for them on his site as well. It is fascinating reading if you have time!
Some of the issues that have benefited from EFT are Depression, Headaches, Panic/Anxiety, Asthma, Depression, Dyslexia, Carpal Tunnel, ADD-ADHD, Claustrophobia, Agoraphobia, and so many more. Just think something as easy as tapping on specific points on your body can help alleviate issues that have been plaguing you for as long as you can remember. It is SO worth having a look at it. Who knows, you may find just what you need in an alternative, drug free, non-invasive therapy. ![]()
How often do you really look at what you are thinking and saying in reference your ability to change how your life is going? My guess is that the answer to that is “Not very often”.
Your words and thoughts are very powerful influencers of your vibration. Your vibration attracts experiences into your life. If you are thinking “upstream” thoughts, then you are going to attract things into your life that are less than pleasing to you. Focusing on these “upstream” thoughts will bring those things unwanted more quickly into your experience. Abraham says that the thoughts you verbalize have more power than the ones you are just thinking, but they are all have the potential to be “upstream” thoughts.
So, you say, what exactly qualifies as an upstream thought?
Phrases like:
“I can’t do …”
“I’m not worthy …”
“I don’t have …”
“You need to stop …”
“I’ll never …”
“This (insert negative experience of choice) always happens to me”
Any thought or phrase that makes you feel less worthy, makes you feel more disempowered, or requires anyone to change their behavior to make you feel better qualifies as an upstream thought.
Get into alignment with what you desire in your existence by thinking and saying things that make you feel good. Simple as that. Okay, maybe not so simple for those who think on autopilot but it is doable. For the most part, thoughts that contain these words and others that feel the same are the ones that you should be aware of.
Upstream Words: can’t, won’t, don’t, never, no, stop, hate
So, how do you move your thoughts in a more “downstream”, go with the flow, direction? Just make an effort to point downstream and make a few little changes in how you interact with those in your life.
This quote from Abraham gives you a pretty good starting point:
My new orientation is to praise, not criticize
My new orientation is to appreciate, not blame.
My new orientation is to love me, not doubt me.
My new orientation is to look for the benefit in you.
My new orientation is to look where ever I am for positive aspects.My new orientation is today, no matter where I am, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I am doing it with, to look for that which I am wanting to see. And I have come into alignment, you’ll tell your friend, with who I am and I gotta tell you, it’s sweet. It feels good.
