Recipe For Joy - Abraham-Hicks Quote

Thursday 31 May 2007 @ 7:39 pm

The weekly CD finally arrived :) There are so many wonderful interactions on it. This quote is taken from the first person in the hotseat - Scottie, the teddy bear of a trucker.

Scottie reading from a paper which he has carried with him every day:

Recipe for Joy

Seek joy, first and foremost.
Seek reasons to laugh.
Seek reasons to offer words of praise to self and others.
Seek beauty in nature, beasts and other humans.
Seek reasons to love. In every segment of every day — look for something that brings forth within you a feeling of love.
Seek that which uplifts you.
Seek opportunities to offer that which uplifts another.
Seek a feeling of Well-being.
Know that your value can only be measured in terms of Joy.
Acknowledge your absolute freedom to do any of these things or to not do any of these things — for it is, without exception, your choice in every moment of every day.

Saturday May 5th Workshop in Asheville NC - Abraham-Hicks

I think I need to print this out and have it somewhere I can see it on a regular basis. A frequent reminder on how I can make MY life better right now. :)

EFT and the Emotional Scale

Sunday 27 May 2007 @ 12:17 pm

I have been mulling this post over since I went to the Abraham-Hicks workshop in Asheville. So many things were said at the workshop, in different segments, that when pieced together, sort of completed the puzzle for me. It has just taken me a while to get to a cohesive understanding of what I have found and I am going to try and put it down here for all to read.

Innately, I have always felt that if any healing were to be done on myself that it had to come from within me. Yes, doctors and healers can have a dramatic, though sometimes temporary effect, on a client’s health, but if the vibration that caused the illness or dis-ease hasn’t been dealt with, the ailment can return or show up in another form at a future date. If the vibrational cause is dealt with, then that dis-ease will have a very difficult time showing up again, unless that person slides back down into the emotional abyss that caused it in the first place.

When I discovered EFT, I was skeptical. How in the world could something as simple as tapping on my face and hands do ANYTHING at all to help me feel better? I got The EFT Course and the Borrowing Benefits DVDs because I knew I didn’t like how I was feeling emotionally and needed to do something, anything, to regain control.

I tapped through the the Borrowing Benefits DVDs and didn’t really notice anything to start with. About a week later, I noticed something that was monumental to me. My nails were growing. Sounds silly, I know, but for someone who has been a stress picker and chewer for the majority of her life, it was a WOW moment. My nails were growing and I didn’t have all the sore spots around the nail like I had had for as long as I could remember. I fully attribute the change to the tapping that I had done along with the DVDs. It was an innate knowing that something had shifted after I had spent some time tapping.

I used the EFT through the years that followed, for both myself and my children and did see an improvement in issues I was tapping for. If you have any experience with any of the EFT experts out there (Gary Craig, Carol Look, Rick Wilkes, Patricia Carrington to name a few), you will see that they have an amazing way of phrasing things and making the EFT session flow and feel right. When I first started out, I couldn’t think of WHAT and HOW to say what needed to be said to make things better so I would end up saying the same thing over and over again as I tapped the EFT points. It worked to a point, but I always felt that there was more to it and that the effects would be more pronounced if I just knew the right way to phrase things and how to get to the heart of the issue. Listening to the various EFT experts doing their tapping only made me feel inadequate and frustrated (hmmm may be something that I need to tap on :) ) because I couldn’t figure out how to do it on my own.

I never lost the desire to make EFT and Abraham’s teaching mesh together. The workshop made the light bulb go on for me. The final piece of the puzzle fell into place. Abraham’s Emotional Scale is the key to making EFT work for me. I CAN do this and feel confident in knowing that I am shifting my vibration to a more positive place.

In another post, I will talk about how I made this work for me with a specific personal instance in my life, but for now, I am going to give you a basic description of how to make it work for you. If you don’t know EFT, I suggest that you download Gary Craig’s free EFT Manual so you can understand a bit better. You don’t need to be an expert to shift your energy :) Any one can do this.

If you have an issue you would like to work though, think about it and give the intensity of the feeling a rating from 1 to 10 with 1 being hardly bothersome at all and 10 being as emotionally charged and upsetting as it could possibly be. Remember that number.

Look at the emotional scale below. Where are you on that scale? How would you describe the emotion you are feeling? You may want to keep the emotional scale within view as you are doing this so it is easier to figure out what you should be reaching for next.

The Emotional Scale

Joy/Appreciation/Empowered/Freedom/Love
Passion
Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment
Boredom
Pessimism
Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
Overwhelment
Disappointment
Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage
Jealousy
Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

Do a round of EFT tapping on your issue focusing on the emotion that you picked on the emotional scale. If your emotion is anger, you can tap the spots with phrases that verbalize your anger about the person or situation. I suggest you do a full round this way. Re-evaluate what your rating is. If it has dropped, review the emotional scale and see if you are still identifying with anger in regards to your issue, or if you are more able to identify with an emotion further up the scale. Maybe you can verbalize discouragement, blame or worry now. Do another round of EFT with the phrases that express the emotion from the emotional scale that the issue now evokes. Re-evaluate and repeat the steps above for as long as you are comfortable doing so.

The cool thing about this is that you don’t have to go all the way to joy. In moving from Anger to Blame, you have totally changed the vibrational charge of the issue that was causing you grief. You have turned down stream with this little change if vibration and in doing so, you are flowing towards what is it that you have in vibrational escrow. It is, in my opinion, an empowering way to release the past and let you move toward the life that you have always wanted. Holding on to the negativity to the past is holding you stagnantly where you are. Who wants to give all their power to someone or something that they can’t change? I am certain that I don’t want to do that and I am working on moving through all the childhood programming, one step, one emotion at a time. I KNOW I will get there and life will continue to improve as let go of the negativity.

Abraham Quote - Tell it Like It Is or How You Want It To Be?

Saturday 26 May 2007 @ 6:06 am
We practice the Art of Allowing. Which means reaching for the thought that feels best, not the thought that is the real thought, not the thought that is telling it like it is. Telling it like it is only holds you where it is: “Damn it, I’m going to tell it like it is. I’m going to tell it like it is, because everybody wants me to tell it like it is.” Tell it like it is if you like it like it is. But if you don’t like it like it is, then don’t tell it like it is–tell it like you want it to be. If you tell it like you want it to be, long enough, you will begin to feel it like you want it to be, and when you feel it like you want it to be, it be’s like you want it to be.

Let’s Play Tag! - Vibration Raising Fun

Friday 25 May 2007 @ 9:33 pm

As I was surfing around this morning and came across Cardin’s post at OptimistLab about her High Vibes Game. I thought it was pretty cool and had that page up in a browser window for most of the morning intending to read up more about it. :) And wouldn’t you know it, she comes along and tags me to play.

So here it goes, my top 5 vibration raising activities. These are the things I do to stay positive, happy, and motivated.

1) Listen to Abraham-Hicks on a daily basis.
While they may not be for everyone, I find that their teachings help me look at things with a more positive perspective. They help me kick my vibration up a notch or two.

2) Daily meditation.
I have invested in the Holosync program (the easy way to meditate) and have found that it is a wonderful way of starting out my morning. :) All I need to do is sit in my comfy chair and put my head phones on and off I go. It helps me start off the day nice and calm and positively. I find that my day goes so well. My interactions are smoother, my intuition is sharper, and everything just goes so well. One morning this week, I decided that I would sleep in instead of getting up at 4:30am to listen before my family got up. Well, that wasn’t too good of a day. By the end of the day, I was extremely tired and cranky.

3) Exercise.
This is something new to me. I guess I used to be what could be termed as a computer / desk potato. The extent of my exercise was to climb the stairs in the house. Since I started meditating, I have found myself to be more motivated. I have joined a gym and have a personal trainer now. I have exercised more in the last two weeks than I have in the last 6 months. After the intial tiredness, I find that I feel much more energized and ready and willing to face what comes my way. I think it helps me burn off any of the stress that I am carrying around with me. Much better to burn it off then to lay it on someone else when you interact. :) I think my family would agree!

4) Appreciation Lists

When I do my appreciation lists, it is amazing to me how my vibrations rise and stay that way. When I focus on the things in my life that are working and are wonderful and appreciate them, I find that I see more and more things to appreciate. It feels SO good. :) It is amazing how it can make you totally change your vibe about something by actively LOOKING for things about the situation to appreciate.

5) Doing Things That I Enjoy
That one seems like a no brainer, but think about it, how often do you do things that you HAVE to do? Most of us spend a good part of our days doing the “have to’s” and not enough time doing the “want to’s”. I love being outdoors listening to and watching nature. I love hearing the birds singing and seeing the hawks soaring. That will lift my vibes everytime. I love watching my family from afar. I love seeing how they interact. I created that. I created everything in my life and I so appreciate it all. ( :D Sometimes more than others but in the end, it is all fantastic.)

Okay, now time to tag some fantastic bloggers :)

Morning Tea and Appreciation - 5/25/2007

Let your dominant intent be…

Let your dominant intent be to feel good which means be playful, have fun, laugh often, look for reasons to appreciate and practice the art of appreciation. And as you practice it, the Universe, who has been watching you practice, will give you constant opportunities to express it. So that your life just gets better and better and better.

Excerpted from the workshop in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, September 13th, 1997

Ahhh… a little time before the schedule of daily life starts up again :)

How about a little appreciation today…

I SO appreciate that my emotional guidance system is working just as it should and that I am more aware of where I want to be in regards to things that cause contrast in my life.

I appreciate that the law of attraction has brought me a new employee that I think fits the bill :) She didn’t have all the things on my list, but I am confident that she will have all of the list items within a month or two. I can do that. I am very appreciative of the fact that she will be available and eager to learn everything about our business. I can see her as being a long term keeper. :)

I appreciate that my husband and I are working together to get over the bumps of depression. Sometimes it is a bit tough to see past our own issues to understand what is going on with the other. I appreciate that he is doing the best he can to get better and that he is listening to the things that I am missing in our relationship due to the depression.

I appreciate that I have a personal trainer at the gym who catches me out on the negative talk. He talks LOA even without realizing that he is talking my language.

Life is Good and All’s Well Here’s to a wonderful day!

En-JOY your day!
